heavy earthquake and tsunami in japan on saturday march 12, 2011.Looking at breaking news on CNN TV i was really impressed by the force of nature based on an impressive wave coming ashore on the N.E.coast of Japan.The impact was enormously: more than 1000 peoples dead or missed they say in Tokyo.At least 20 other countries will be hit by the nature as a result of this quake.Taiwan is nearby,the Philippines ( East coastline),Northern PH,Northern Luzon,Peoples will be evacuated soonest,means since the start of tsunami at 2,35 hours(?)pm the evacuation should be done before 6 p.m.PH time.If the wave went down from 9 meters to 2 meters,even then peoples should be aware of the effects:they have to go to the second floor of their houses or be evacuated soonest.The time in between the first wave and the last one is at least 2 hours,the Phil authorities ask the peoples to stay alert untill 10 p.m.in the evening.
another effect of the tsunami is the damage from a power plant in Japan.Nuclear outfall is supposed to take place.
The whole afternoon we were watching TV, it was impossible to walk away from it.Water destroyed evrything,houses,land,crops,schools,trains were down placed,nuclear plant on fire,unbelievable.
we wish all peoples in Japan courage to continue with their lives,we wish them all courage to say farewell to the dead peoples,we pray for Japan,God bless Japan.
Question: is the Philippines ready to withstand such an earthquake?Are the houses quake proved? Answer(s);the houses can stand a quake of 5 to 6(7),the capital city Manila is a problem,the bay of Manila and the Pasig river will be rough and dangerous at that time.We need a system of waterway defence system,such as in the Netherlands,after the 1953 disaster.The bay is a dangerous spot,the whole of manila will be under water,many peoples will die.So President,do something,mobilize the House and Senate,make funds available,make peoples alert for a massive eartquake.Because also we are on the Ring of Fire!!

chaos in manila, another failure of LIM ( mayor)

One of the most visible examples of the lack of discipline and failure of law enforcement in this country is the chaotic traffic in Metro Manila.
this statement is given by philstar.com, a leading Manila newspaper and E-lectronic newspaper.

I agree!

and even then it is a beautiful country with beautiful people,with excellent food,with beautiful sand beaches.

but chaotic and NO rules

i can buy a drivers license without any knowledge about rules and language,no problem nobody follows the rules,there are no traffic signs,and law enforcement? forget it,just pay the amount that has been mentioned to you.
i like PH!
But i will never live in manila.

Seriously,when you want to solve the traffic chaos,then donot only punish the(electric) trycycles,these men are now without income=no food,no water,no rice.Then organise a reorganisation programme,give them a chance to obtain another job.

reproductive health,you want more classrooms,why not control population?

what do we see this week?again the discussion and debate about getting children in the philippines.Do the parents want sex education or leave it just to the Catholic Church,saying no reproductive health bill at all.!
the yearly increase of population is more than 1,5 million peoples with a population which is over 90 million!!!!!!
what do we read in the newspapers:

.I discussed this topic several times in a Forum/Group in Friendster.com
i got numerous reactions,comments and even negative response.
leave it to the parents..................what? the parents ,esp.of poor families in faraway areas,barangays,have no idea about birth control,about pre conditional items,about a responsable parenthood.And when interested parties advocate birth control,let it be condoms,than the whole country is upset!
God will tell the parents to get children,go and multiply,......................................
The Church is totally against a stricter birth control program.
No birth regulation they say.
The DEpEd only wants to bring more educational materials about the matter into the classrooms.Just to study and make the families more aware of the effects of unlimited birth in this country.
Being more poor families,more children,less classrooms,less teachers,no buildings to accommodate them all.
Health situation deteriorates during unlimited birth increase.
result,the government has to supply enormous quantities of food to these poor peoples.
i accept that a developing country needs time to level up their population to a responsable standard/family.
But we can not close our eyes for the growing number of births.

It is very easy to punish the big companies in USA and Europe which want to sell their birth control programs to the PH.It is too easy to fulminate against them.or against similar organizations which advocate a Reproductive Health Policy.I remember the Opinion sites of PH newspapers which were fumigating against the Ambassador of the European Union when he adressed the PH about a reproductive health program.
We are certainly following the Presidents ideas and his Cabinet members ideas
about this topic.
It seems that the President is totally aware of the problem ,but he is also under heavy pressure of the Catholic Church.We should not underestimate their influence in the PH.

devotees during Black Nazarene icon procession

this year again the barefoot devotees joined the procession of the BLACK NAZARENE going from the Quirino Grandstand to the Quiapo Church, in Maynila=Manila, yesterday .It is expected to be a crowd of more than one million peoples, some say 2 million peoples.
The wooden ,life sized Black Nazarene, carved in Mexico and brought to the Philippines in the early 17th century , is taken out of the QUIAPO CHURCH on January 9 each year, for the largest known religious procession in the predominantly Roman Catholic country..
The day starts with early morning Mass at the Quirino Grandstand directly broadcasted on TV.
many more peoples line the streets to see the icon, dressed in maroon robes and paraded in a wooden carriage, in a festival that has been held in the Spanish enclave (during the occupation of Spain)for more than 200 years.Onlookers threw white towels and handkerchiefs to devotees, also in yellow shirts,on the carriage to wipe the statue in the hope of carrying away some of its healing powers.peoples come from all over the country to try to get healing for their family members who are sick, who have cancer,they hope for a miracle and the Black Nazarene gives them strength .
Others have another reason to come,anyway it gives peace and strength and it feels like a heavy weight has been lifted.
The devotees hold lengths of stout rope,it looks like giant waves.If you watch TV then you get the impression that the peoples are fighting,but it is just emotion and healing.In the Philippines struck by many disasters in 2009, many people turn or turn back to religion after that year of disasters.
Last year was a real disaster with tropical storms, see my blogposts,floods,landslides, maritime disasters,the sunken ferryboats,and they kille4d more than 2,000 people in 2009.Also in that year the Massacre in Mindanao, Maguindanao, with 57 lives claimed.
Finally, the Mayon Volcano spewed ashes forcing the evacuation of thousands in the province of Albay.
We ask God to abstain from disasters in 2010.( the picture shows the cathedral in Manila).

OUR LADY OF MATUTUM PH

in south cotabatou the philippines you will find the only trappistine monastery of the cistercian order.the official name of this Monastery is Our lady of MATUTUM The Philippines.The abbye is situated near the Mt Matutum,an impressive vulcano mountain more than 2.200 meters on the island of Mindanao,the most southern island of the Philippines.The nuns of this abbey produce cookies and pastries,and the abbye is surrounded by pineapplefields.(pictures).

Mindanao is also the island of the Massacre wereby two clans clashed.

The island is famous for its religious and political rebellions.

Before you visit the island we suggest you to ask for the situation on the spot.The maguindanao area has been under martial law recently,there is still an emergency law effective on december 14, 2009.We will show you some pictures of this trappistine abbye,the only male cistercian monastery you will find on Guimares island( see my other articles).
